Subjunctive อธิบายกว้างๆได้ว่า
เป็น grammar (กรรมมาก) ที่ใช้กับประโยคที่เป็นทางการ
ซึ่งมีรูปแบบคือ จะไม่เติม s (base form) กับประธานเอกพจน์หรือสรรพนามบุรุษที่ 3
(ปกติ Present simple tense
ประธานเอกพจน์หรือสรรพนามบุรุษที่ 3
เช่น he, she, it
กริยาเราต้องผันเติม s)
verb to be ก็ใช้คำว่า be เลย
ตัวอย่างประโยค ที่เราเห็นกันจนชินตาก็คือ Long Live the King
ซึ่ง กริยา live ไม่เติม s
ซึ่งในประโยค
